Terms and Conditions

1. Using Sigil

Sigil lets you create hand-signed, animated email signatures and optional event banners. By using Sigil you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, and you're responsible for anything done through your account.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you create or upload — signatures, logos, images and event details. You give us a limited licence to store, process and serve that content only so Sigil can work, for example to host the images in your signature.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Don't use Sigil to impersonate someone, sign on behalf of another person without permission, or promote anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful.

You're solely responsible for all content you upload, create or share through Sigil, including signature text, handwriting, logos, photos, event images, banners, event descriptions and linked material. You must not upload or share hateful, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, violent, exploitative or otherwise harmful content, or content that encourages harm or unlawful activity.

User content does not represent the views of Sigil or FYS Labs, and hosting it does not mean we endorse it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sigil and FYS Labs are not responsible or liable for user content, including hateful or harmful material, or for harm caused by its use or distribution. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

3. Hosted images and events

Images in your signature and event banners are hosted by us so they appear in your recipients' inboxes. Event banners stop showing after their date. We may limit uploads to keep the service reliable, and we may remove content that breaks these terms.

Email apps decide how signatures are displayed and may cache images. We can't guarantee how every email app will show your signature.

4. Accounts

You need an account to use Sigil. Your signature is saved to it so you can return on any device. People who view or RSVP to your events don't need an account. You can stop using Sigil at any time; contact us through the feedback form to have your account and data deleted.

We reserve the right to remove or disable content and to suspend or terminate accounts found to violate these terms, including accounts that upload or share hateful or harmful content. We may take immediate action without prior notice where necessary to protect others or comply with the law, subject to any notice or other requirements imposed by applicable law.

5. Typefaces and third-party services

Handwriting styles are based on fonts licensed under the SIL Open Font License. Sigil relies on third-party services for hosting, sign-in and email delivery.

6. No warranty

Sigil is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, FYS Labs isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from how email apps display your signature.

7. Changes

We may update these terms or change the service. If the changes are significant, we'll make that clear in the app. Continuing to use Sigil after an update means you accept the new terms.
